PARALYMPIC SPORT CLUB
As an official Paralympic Sport Club, the National Ability Center is proud of its partnership with U.S. Paralympics, a division of the U.S. Olympic Committee, to help athletes with physical disabilities reach their dream of Paralympic excellence. |
The U.S. Paralympics, has chosen National Ability Center to be its state partner in Utah.
Paralympic Experiences are scheduled once each year to promote Paralympic sports. In 2008 the Ability Center welcomed Jeff Fabry from the U.S. Paralympic Archery Team to help instruct aspiring paralympians. In conjunction with Salt Lake County Parks & Recreation, the National Ability Center hopes to help people with disabilities throughout the state of Utah to find their unique abilities and spark a competitive fire within to one day participate in the Paralympic Games. In 2009 we were excited to have Beijing Paralympic gold and bronze medal cyclist Oz Sanchez on hand. The 2010 Paralympic Experience will once again feature Oz, but we will also shine a spotlight on NAC athlete Greg Shaw and his sled hockey gold medal from the Winter Paralympic Games in Vancouver earlier this year.
