Give a Day. Get a Disney Day. logo

Disney is rewarding volunteerism with a new program entitled "Give A Day, Get A Disney Day." Individuals and families who give their time at organizations like the NAC will receive a free one-day ticket to a Disney theme park! As part of this new program, the NAC is excited to give back to our volunteers!

NAC Golden Eagle sled hockey player, Greg Shaw, helped the American sled hockey team take first place in the 2010 Japan Para Ice Sledge Hockey Championships. This was the last tournament before March's Paralympic Winter Games in Vancouver.

Greg competed with Team USA this summer as it won the first ever gold medal in the IPC Sledge Hockey World Championships in the Czech Republic.

The National Ability Center is one of only eight AmeriCorps State Programs in Utah. These volunteers are invaluable and help create a positive environment for each individual who participates in our programs throughout the year.

 

The National Ability Center is committed to the development of lifetime skills for people of all ages and abilities by providing affordable outdoor sports and recreational experiences in a nurturing environment.

The objective of these experiences is to build self-esteem, confidence and physical development, thereby enhancing active participation in all aspects of community life. As a national role model, the Center promotes the concept of ability through integration, public awareness and education.

Founded in 1985, the National Ability Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit, tax-exempt organization. Programs are supported through special events, grants from private corporations and foundations, individual donations and program fees. All activities are offered at an affordable rate and scholarships are available, ensuring participation for all applicants.
