Outdoor recreation and enriching times are ahead of you as part of our team. The National Ability Center welcomes volunteers year round to assist within a wide selection of opportunities. Recreational programs, fundraisers, outreach events, office help and much more. Below is a list of highlighted volunteer opportunities. Cycling Assistant Training (14 years +): Monday June 5, 2017 & Wednesday June 7, 2017 4:30pm-6:30pm (You only need to attend 1) Cycling Instructor Training (18 years +): Wednesday May 31, 2017 & Thursday June 1, 2017 9:00am-5:00pm & Wednesday June 7, 2017 (You only need to attend 1) Passionate about cycling, learning about adaptive bikes and helping others achieve their goals- come join us for our cycling assistant/instructor trainings. You will instruct/assist on lessons either Tuesday or Wednesday evenings and have the opportunity to ride with groups on weekends and other days of the week. Be sure to fill out the volunteer application and RSVP to get started! Come with your gear- ready to ride at the National Ability Center bike shed!
Mountain Bike Assistant Training (14 years +): Friday May 26, 2017 & Friday June 2, 2017 3:00pm-6:00pm (You only need to attend 1) Mountain Bike Instructor Training (18 years +): Thursday May 27, 2017 & Saturday June 3, 2017 8:00am-5:00pm & Wednesday June 7, 2017 (You only need to attend 1) Have you ever wanted to take Mountain Biking to the next level? Come and learn about adaptive mountain bikes and help others achieve their goals. You will assist/instruct on lessons and have the opportunity to ride with groups on weekends and other days of the week. Be sure to fill out the volunteer application and RSVP to get started! Come with your gear- ready to ride at the National Ability Center bike shed!
Equestrian Assistant Training (14 years +): Wednesday May 24, 2017 & Monday June 5, 2017: 9:00am-12:30pm (You only need to attend 1). Our year round Equestrian program is awesome and needs amazing people to work with our amazing participants in this program. Lessons are usually Tuesday- Sunday from 10am-4pm and last about 2 hours. Come hang out with some amazing personalities (our horses) and incredible participants. Weather your a seasoned horse lover or wanting to learn more this is the training for you! Be sure to fill out the volunteer application and RSVP and join us in the Barn at the National Ability Center.
Aquatics Assistant Training (14 years +): Monday May 23, 2017 3:30pm- 5:00pm & Tuesday June 6, 2017 4:30 pm- 6:00pm (You only need to attend 1) Aquatics Instructor Training (18 years +): Monday May 23, 2017 2:00pm- 5:00pm & Tuesday June 6, 2017 3:00 pm- 6:00pm (You only need to attend 1) Our Aquatics trainings take place at either Ecker Hills Middle School pool or South Summit Pool in Park City. Assistants and Instructors help participants on lessons to learn new skills in the pool and help them have as well. Be sure to fill out the volunteer application and RSVP and come ready to get wet and make sure to RSVP.
SPLORE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: Hopefully you have heard by now about our amazing partnership with Splore; an organization who shares our passion of making sure everyone can enjoy and recreate in the great outdoors! They have great programs as well and need amazing and passionate volunteers! These amazing new programs are helping us grow and reach even more individuals and families and give them experiences that will last a lifetime! MOAB Volunteer White Water Rafting Training May 18-23, 2017 Desolation Canyon for volunteers 18 and older (there is a cost of $400 for this training which includes shuttle, all meals. instruction, certifications and an awesome t-shirt). Don’t have time to dedicate to volunteering in our programs- No problem! You can still be part of our incredible mission in many other ways; Front desk/administrative, helping out at our lodge, helping with events, helping with set up for groups and so much more- whether it is one day a week a few times a month we need you!
Outreach: Did you know…The number one way opportunities at the National Ability Center are shared is by word of mouth? Join us at outreach events and share the possibilities with families, aspiring athletes, veterans and many more who can benefit from our programs. We’ll be hosting information tables at races, farmers markets, expos and fairs, and need your help! Events occur on mornings, nights and weekends, from Park City to Salt Lake, so there’s something for everyone.
Certified American Sign Language Interpreters: We can always use assistance from those certified as an ASL interpreter.
